This part-time salaried position is Monday through Friday during the school year (approximately 30 hours per week, September through May) with flexible hours during the summer. Preschool classes are offered Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. during the school year. This includes but is not limited to the following: supervise staff, oversee licensing regulations, oversee curriculum, enroll students, develop parental rapport, ensure profitability, and maintain financial reports. Qualifications: The Director must be a Christian. The Director shall meet the Kentucky Division of Child Care’s educational requirements for a director of a Type 1 early childhood education program. The Director must have management experience; a background in early childhood education is preferred. Director should have proficiency in basic computer skills. Essential Functions: Staff ● Recruit, interview, check references, make offer, conduct orientation and train new employees ● Maintain personnel files ● Supervise all employees and evaluate each staff member’s job performance ● Arrange for substitutes for absent staff ● Conduct team meetings ● Assist teachers in the classroom when necessary ● Incorporate mutual respect and high expectations when working with staff Curriculum ● Know, understand and maintain Creative Beginnings’ curriculum (Creative Curriculum & Get Set for School) ● Train staff in the implementation of the curriculum ● Ensure teachers implement Creative Beginnings’ curriculum ● Encourage and recognize excellent performance of staff and students ● Nurture a positive environment conductive to achievement of program, developmental and community goals Children & Parents ● Foster interest in the program through social media, phone & email inquiries and guided tours ● Enroll new students ● Provide an orientation of the school for parents and children ● Interpret the policies and programs of the school to parents ● Ensure safety through proper maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment ● Maintain Creative Beginnings’ disciplinary policies ● Document and report possible cases of child abuse or neglect in accordance with State Regulations and preschool policies ● Maintain documentation of any parent discussions regarding behavioral conflicts ● Plan and schedule parent meetings and conferences as necessary ● Create and maintain communication about school policies, events, etc. with parents ● Incorporate mutual respect and high expectations when working with parents and students ● Oversee teacher/parent communication ● Be available to parents to answer questions and address concerns Board of Directors ● Work with the preschool Board of Directors to convene monthly board meetings ● Attend preschool Board meetings ● Use the Board as a resource for the school ● Coordinate maintenance needs and use of facility with Florence United Methodist Church ● Create annual budget ● Maintain financial records Florence United Methodist Church ● Foster a relationship with the preschool as a ministry of the church
